The systematic study on the extraction behavior of uranyl thiocyanate with a mixture of isoamyl alcohol and ethyl acetate is described. A uranium solution containing 1 M to 3 M of thiocyanate at p H range 1.0 to 3.0 was extracted quantitatively with a mixture of isoamyl alcohol and ethyl acetate (1:3). With a single extraction, the maximum amount of uranium passing into the organic solvent attained 96.5%.
