The electromotive force of the cell, Pt/NaHSeO 3 , QH/Ag 2 SeO 3 (s)−Ag has been calculated from the cells, Hg‐Hg 2 Cl 2 ( s )/KCl(satd.)/KNO 3 ( m )/NaHSeO 3 (m)/Ag 2 SeO 3 (s)‐Ag, and Hg‐Hg 2 Cl 2 ( s )/KCl(satd.)/KNO 3 ( m )/NaHSeO 3 ( m ), QH/Pt at 25°C in concentrations of sodium biselenite, ranging from 10 −2 to 10 −3 M . The standard potential of Ag‐Ag 2 SeO 3 /SeO 3 = electrode has been determined as E °= −0.3629 volt. The solubility‐product constant of silver slenite and the activity coefficient of selenous acid at varying concentrations have been evaluated.
