Abstract Magnetic susceptibilities of some iron group metal sulfates were measured after the semi‐differential Gouy method. The results were listed in Tables I, II, and III, and also illustrated in Fig. 1 and 2. No significant changes in susceptibilities were observed for CoSO 4 and NiSO 4 in the aqueous solutions, while in the Fe 2 (SO 4 ) 3 solution, the hydrolysis proceeded to a considerable extent, leading to the formation of strongly diamagnetic hydrolysis product which diminished the apparent magnetic moment of Fe+++ considerably at big dilution and at low acidity.
