Abstract 7‐Hydroxy 4‐isopropyl torpolone (7‐hydroxy hinokitiol) was synthesized from bromo‐and iodohinokitiol. Its 7‐isopropoxy and 7‐phenoxy derivatives were also synthesized by the Ullmann reaction in good yields. The nature of these compounds were compared with that of Chamaecin.
