The stabilities of the complexes formed by hinokitiol (β‐isopropyl tropolone) and bivalent metals, Cu, Pb, Zn, and Ni, were studied stepwisely by means of potentiometric titration with glass electrode. The stability constants, K 1 and K 2 for copper, zinc and lead‐hinokitiol complexes, (M. Hin) + and (M. Hin 2 ), and K 1 , K 2 and K 3 for nickel complexes, (M. Hin) + , (M. Hin 2 ) and (M. Hin 3 ) − , were evaluated from the pH values observed.
