Limnophila arecta , Benth. gave 0.05% essential oil on steam distillation. The crude oil consists of 37% α‐pinene, 15% d‐limonene, 26% α‐caryophyllene, 15% β‐caryophyllene, 4% cadinene, 2% sesquiterpene alcohols, and traces of terpene alcohol.
