Abstract The reaction between p‐bromophenylmagnesium bromide and cyclo‐h‐exanone has been reinvestigated. p‐Bromophenylcyclohexene (tetrahydro‐p‐bromodiphenyl), dehydration product of the tertiary alcohol resulted from the above reaction, was converted into the corresponding organomagnesium compound by a special method. The latter was in turn allowed to react with cyclohexanone, resulting in the formation of hydroterphenyl derivatives.
