The cover image, submitted by Mark Rance and colleagues for their article on page 1936, depicts three‐dimensional structure of the small calcium‐binding protein calbindin D 9k , with two EF‐hand calciumbinding motifs. In the absence of Ca 2+ ions, the possibility exists that the S100‐specific site I is occupied by a monovalent ion such as Na + . An all atom representation of the four site I amino acid residues and one water molecule forming the ligands to a Na + ion is shown. Site II is unoccupied. (DOI: 10.1002/jcc.25839 )
