Although gibberellins (GAs) have been known as crucial endogenous hormones in plants for over 70 years, the actual molecular mechanism by which the GA signal is perceived by its receptor GID1 remains a puzzle. The computational insights into the fundamental mechanism of hormone perception by receptor GID1 are reported by Ge‐Fei Hao, Sheng‐Gang Yang, Guang‐Fu Yang, and Chang‐Guo Zhan on page 2055 . The computational simulations reveal a new GA‐binding channel and a novel perception mechanism, which is remarkably different from the previously speculated mechanism, providing a new starting point for future extensive computational and experimental studies.
