Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software started taking off in the early 1990s. It required IT departments and workers to adjust to new realities in their relationship with business partners. The authors take a critical look at the history of ERP systems and discuss changes they see coming over the next few years. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
