Congress passed the USA PATRIOT Act to combat terrorist money laundering. But the law isn't confined justto banks, say the attorney authors of this article. Many types of U.S. companies can be affected. However, manycompanies—both domestic and foreign—are reluctant to reveal security breaches or questionabletransactions, fearing public disclosure.
