Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy or SERS has come a long way since its discovery in the 70's. The recent advances in the nanotechnology have brought SERS closer to the clinical field. Images shown represent a variety of SERS‐active nanostructures and their preclinical and clinical applications that will be highlighted in the review article by Kho, Fu, Dinish, and Olivo.
