Summary A 14 year old female with Hutchinson‐Gilford Progeria presented for urgent orthopaedic intervention following hip dislocation. Progeria is characterised by premature aging, with death commonly occurring by 13 yr of age due to cardiac disease. Difficult and failed intubation is common due to craniofacial abnormalities. This report aims to highlight to the anaesthetist, the issues and potential challenges presented by this extremely rare condition.
