GE Healthcare has implemented a comprehensive approach to the SE Development process described in the new INCOSE SE Handbook (Figure 2.9, Walden, et al. 2015). The goal is a unified approach to individual professional development, process improvement and overall SE effectiveness. Since this is conceived as a ‘system’ (a closed loop), we have applied a breadth first approach: implementing at least a stub for each element of the loop, and building out depth at each element. We have found a simplified implementation of each step can be quite effective, even as a starting point.
