Ever since SE had been introduced in Korea in the early 1990s, many Korean SE preachers or System Engineers have tried to introduce SE to the Korean industry, Korean engineering society or Korean Government, but hardly succeeded. Then some questions arose. What is SE in a word? What does each SE process mean for us in our daily lives? If SE is so useful, it should also be easily understood even by any ordinary people. This paper shows a usual daily issue in a family about purchasing a new kitchen cooker, on which they could ‘successfully’ apply the ‘useful’ SE process. With this case, explaining SE to anybody has become easier in less than 10 minutes. The case also depicts how human factors in system design play a crucial role ie. emotional, psychological, value factors and other soft human factors, which are a new challenge for the systems engineers.
