An invitational workshop at the January INCOSE International Workshop (IW08) was held to clarify the concepts, principles and terminology for the architecture of systems and enterprises. The results of this workshop have served the needs of several groups: the two ISO standards committees dealing with architecture, TC184/SC5/WG1 and JTC1/SC7/WG42, the Model Based Systems Engineering initiative, and various INCOSE Working Groups. Attendees of this panel will learn the outcome of recent debates on concepts, principles and terminology and how they have helped the progress of the ISO groups and other stakeholders in this critical domain.
