Multi‐attribute utility models are usually thought of as direct quantifications of stakeholder preferences. A system alternative that receives the highest utility score is the preferred solution. However, in practice users often attempt to use multi‐attribute models for complex forms of decision making, such as new alternative synthesis or investment selection. Since more complex decision‐making requires more insight into the multi‐attribute data than a single number, we have investigated methods for visualizing high‐dimensionality utility data, especially for utility‐over‐time applications. This paper discusses the visualization techniques and presents examples.
