This paper describes a multidisciplinary program of research and curriculum development in Information‐Centric Systems Engineering currently underway at the Institute for Systems Research, University of Maryland, College Park. This work is supported by a significant grant from the National Science Foundation and industrial funds from US industry. After motivating the need for an information‐centric approach to systems engineering education, this paper describes the research methodology, pathway from research to curriculum development and teaching, and architecture for web‐based project deliverables.
