This paper presents the results of an educational initiative to bring aircraft systems design into the systems engineering curriculum at the United States Air Force Institute of Technology. The project spans preliminary design, mission analysis, aircraft modification, test planning, flight testing and system analyses for a small multi‐mission unmanned aerial vehicle system. Educational and mission outcomes are presented.
