This paper describes the Naval Collaborative Engineering Environment (CEE) being developed to facilitate data/information exchange and collaboration among engineers, scientists, users, and managers at multiple distributed geographic locations for the purpose of family‐of‐systems interoperability engineering. A description of the envisioned open systems, standards based infrastructure of communications, data processing and resource management services is included, as well as how the Naval CEE will be used within the US Naval Force Systems Engineering Process.
