The introduction of an object oriented systems engineering method and tool was assessed during a short duration pilot project on the Navy's Common Command and Decision (CC&D) program. The pilot determined that the method/tool offers significant benefit for specifying and designing a complex command and control system relative to traditional approaches. This paper describes the pilot approach, summarizes the object oriented methodology and tool evaluated, and presents some of the significant findings.
