Quantitative QFD (Q 2 FD) is an extension of conventional Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Q 2 FD incorporates quantitative requirements decomposition models into the QFD framework. It also rearranges conventional QFD matrices to facilitate quantitative capture and both forward and backward chaining of performance values. The rearranged matrices also allows full representation of QFD matrices with standard spreadsheets instead of only with special purpose software. Q 2 FD can serve as a bridge between quality, system, and disciplinary engineering personnel and act as an organizing formalism for all performance aspects of system design.
