RDD‐100 IMPLEMENTATION ISSUES

Loral Federal Systems has begun to use the RDD‐100 (TM, Ascent Logic Corporation) systems engineering tool on a variety of programs, including one large and very complex program. Lessons learned in implementing RDD are collected here, so that managers and others who are thinking of using RDD can set up the introduction wisely. As the tool was introduced to the largest program part way through the development cycle, some of the lessons apply to mid‐phase implementation. Some other lessons would be appropriate for any program using RDD for the first time, and some to any program using tools.
