This paper was prepared to document the current state of Systems Engineering practice in the Commercial Sector. The paper covers Commercial Sector acceptance / application of Systems Engineering and related National Council on Systems Engineering (NCOSE) activities to date. Underlying factors motivating recent changes to the role of Systems Engineering in the Commercial Sector are also identified and discussed.
