This paper presents an overview of the utilization of QFD as a tool for the systems engineer. QFD can be used in the systems engineering process for both requirements definition/allocation and resource allocation management. Relevant examples of the application of QFD in the development of U.S. Army missile systems and in a program management role will be used to illustrate the benefit of this tool in the systems engineering process.
