ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to provide information on actual time used by students with disabilities on the new SAT®. This study observed students with learning disabilities (LD) and/or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) as they took SAT items under strict time limits and recorded the amount of time taken for each item. The study is a replication of study 2 in Bridgeman, Cahalan, and Cline (2003), which observed students without disabilities completing the same test items that are included in this study. Comparisons of the results from this study to the results of Bridgeman et al. are made and recommendations on appropriate extended‐time limits for most students with disabilities are provided.
