The essence of a teacher‐training program that has proven to be successful with faculty from around the nation, and the world, is presented. T 4 E is a week‐long short course run at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. The goal of this short course is to provide participants with a solid foundation of effective teaching skills that they can subsequently build upon as they continue to teach. The focus of T 4 E is on well organized classes presented in a clear and logical fashion that promotes the active participation of students.
