Touchscreens used for safety critical applications such as for airplane, automotive and medical applications must not lead to erroneous data inputs. This paper describes a capacitive touchscreen, using a Runtime Validation Enforcement Monitor (RVEM) dedicated to failure mode detection and mitigation, which reduce its erroneous data rate to 10 −9/h .
