Wearable Displays is a hot research topic recently. The wearable display system must be ultra compact, high efficiency and low weight. In this paper, we propose a new display system called Front‐lit LCOS to meet all the requirements. Comparing to conventional LCOS illumination system which requires a PBS cube having thickness about 10mm., the thickness of Front‐Lit illumination system is less than 1mm.
