Three carboline derivatives, 9,9′‐m‐phenylenedi‐α‐carboline (NmCP1), 9,9′‐m‐phenylenedi‐β‐carboline (NmCP2), 9,9′‐m‐phenylendi‐γ‐carboline (NmCP3) were synthesized as high triplet energy host materials for blue phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PHOLEDs). Three carboline derivatives had nitrogen atom at different positions of carboline and the nitrogen atom position was correlated with the photophysical properties and device performances of carboline derivatives.
