This paper provides an overview of some of the most recent innovations in the field of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI). With display products under continuing pressure for increase product consistency and lower manufacturing cost, modern AOI provides the means to obtain data on a multitude of quality criteria in a repeatable manner that results not only in increased product quality but also delivers the data to improve process speed and yield.
