We propose to use the Response Surface Method for estimation of contras ratio. This method makes it possible to estimate the contrast ratio easily and quickly even in the optically compensated In‐Plane‐Switching‐Mode panel which has many optical axes. Additionally, using combination Response Surface Method and Monte Carlo Method, the distribution of contrast ratio can be calculated. This approach is quite useful for prediction of contrast ratio in mass production. Furthermore, utilizing the interactions between design factors, the distribution of contrast ratio can be reduced.
