HUD image distance from the windshield is an issue subject to investigation. A 7 inches and a 4.5 inches high efficiency HUD unit developed individually for different application scenario have been combined together with different light path length to the windshield, so that the virtual images from these two units float at different distance in front of the windshield. The driver can choose either mode depending on personal convenience or the driving condition.
