We propose a novel color filter pixel arrangement for improving the color gamut of AMOLED microdisplay. By placing adjacent sub‐pixels with same color together, the color cross‐talking can be suppressed significantly. For example, in a RGBW format, simulation shows that a ∼50% reduction of color cross‐talking, and thus a 41% improvement of color gamut can be achieved by employing the proposed color filter pixel arrangement.
