Recently, it has been reported that the electrowetting display (EWD) is an attractive technology for the reflective display. It is required to apply relatively high frequency and voltage for driving the electrowetting device(EWD) due to the characteristics of the EWD. Until now, it was impossible to optimize new algorithm for the EWD because a suitable driver IC for EWD was as yet undeveloped. In this paper, we developed driver IC with novel driving method to reduce the power consumption and temperature for EWD. We also estimated the effect of temperature for EWD driver IC according to driving conditions.
