A method to evaluate the visual effect of time‐sequential 3D is established. The characteristic of the simulation is to apply different cross‐talk values on each grey level according to LC response speed. Moreover, we made an experiment to compare the stereoscopic effect and annoyance of motion pictures with several settings of LC speed. The experiment result shows that the condition of LC response time with 10% to 90% Ton 8ms and 90% to 10% Toff 5ms has similar performance to that of the extremely‐fast LC, and is acceptable to 90% of the 27 assessors.
