A prototype of system‐on‐glass (SOG) with a novel source driver circuit for electrophoretic displays is proposed. With A.C‐common driving and boost circuit, we reduce the source driver to achieve the claim of slim boarder. Source drivers including data shift registers and two‐stage latches were demonstrated in a‐Si:H backplane with low mobility of 0.14 cm 2 /V‐sec. From measurement, output of the source driver is ± 15V in amplitude with 18 μ sec tr and 9 μ sec tf while the boarder is only 7mm for 110 μ m pixel width.
