The viewing‐angle characteristics for two types of multi‐domain IPS have been analyzed geometrically. Type 1 is with two symmetrical electric fields and type 2 is with perpendicularly aligned LC domains. The analyses show that type 2 would have better viewing‐angle characteristics.
