Taking into consideration all the trials made with these hops, it may be concluded that the majority of brewers taking part would be quite willing to substitute at least 25% of their normal hop grist by Dl and D3 in proportion to their a‐soft resin content. J2 appears to be a milder hop readily acceptable at 25% replacement and, in the majority of cases at 50%, on a weight for weight basis as its a‐soft resin content is very similar to that of Fuggles. OT48 (Bramling Cross) has an American aroma, but is considered suitable by most brewers, at least at 25% replacement. V94 (Sunshine) appears to have a characteristic pleasant flavour which is acceptable to some brewers at 25% replacement, but has been acceptable on one occasion only out of three trials at 50%. Therefore, it may not be as suitable as the other four experimental hops to act as a Fuggles replacement.
