By means of formazin suspensions added to beer or to water, hazes of very reproducible nephelometric values could be obtained. These hazes were proportional in their intensities to the quantities of formazin added. By comparing haze values of formazin suspensions in beers of varying colour, the influence of the colour on these hazes was determined, and a relation has been found between the colour of the beer and the proportionality between haze value and quantity of formazin. For brewing practice, however, this Influence of colour on hazes for beers of Pilsener type, with colour values between 6 and 10, is negligible.
