The summer drought, not broken until the beginning of August, acted unfavourably on the Fuggles crops of Mid‐Kent and the Weald, though Kent Goldings did very well and very satisfactory crops were obtained in the West Midlands. Quality in general compares very favourably with that attained in recent seasons, and the hops are clean and free from disease. Some very satisfactory machine‐picked samples have been obtained. Interest in English hops has been maintained on the Continent, and the further development of this export market is worthy of every encouragement from brewers in Britain.
