An account is given of Research Associations concerned in the development of malting barley varieties in Great Britain, Scandinavia and Western Europe. Methods of carrying out field trials are described briefly, and indications are provided of the means available for technical examination of the crops obtained and for the dissemination of information concerning the new varieties.
