Vlies, P. R. and Dewhurst, C. J. (Queen Charlotte's Maternity Hospital, London, UK). Pregnancy and labour following hysterotomy. Int J Gynaecol Obstet 13 : 162–164, 1975. Fifty‐two consecutive pregnancies with hysterotomy scars which reached the third trimester of pregnancy were studied. One scar ruptured and 4 of the remaining 18 which were examined were defective in some degree. Great care is necessary in the management of labour following previous hysterotomy, especially with regard to the use of uterine stimulants and epidural analgesia.
