Oelsner, G., Menczer, J., Insler, V. and Serr, D. M. (Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chaim Sheba Medical Center Tel‐Hashomer, Tel‐Aviv University Medical School, Israel). Fertility after ovarian surgery for benign tumour under the age of twenty. Int J Gynaecol Obstet 13 :145–147, 1975. A retrospective study was performed upon young girls, who under the age of 20 years underwent ovarian surgery with the objective of determining whether ovarian surgery affects later fertility. Forty‐two patients were operated upon. Three patients died 4 months after the operation. Twenty‐three patients were subsequently located and investigated. The study indicates that ovarian surgery performed at a young age does not influence future fertility.
