A late Lapita dentate stamped pot associated with the Level 1 ceramic horizon at the Sigatoka Sand Dune site, Fiji was recovered in 2004. The everted rim carinated jar is paradoxical for its incorporation of crude dentate stamp and highly simplified Lapita motifs on a relatively complex Lapita vessel form. This pot documents the end of a 550 year period of dentate stamp Lapita wares in Fiji.
