A bone assemblage from Shawcross' excavation at the Mungo B site shows that it is both burned at high temperatures and highly fragmented. Taphonomically, the assemblage displays post‐depositional disturbance by carnivores, human occupation and possibly fluvial sorting. The known breeding behaviour of the animals represented supports a picture of year round hunting in both the lacustrine environment and the forested hinterlands.
