Aggression replacement training (ART) is a multimodal, psychoeducational intervention for assaultive, hostile adolescents and children who are either institutionalized or pose severe, disruptive behaviors in communities. The authors present a description of ART, the research evaluating its efficacy, planned efforts in program development, and its relevance for counselors who work in institutions, schools, mental health clinics, or other community‐based organizations.
