Surveys completed by 14 AACD journal editors were analyzed to provide information on journal length, nature of articles, leadership, review process, and disposition of manuscripts. The journal editors use fairly similar procedures for evaluating manuscripts and are interested in the same genre of manuscripts (notably research, theoretical, and in‐the‐field articles). The number of pages published annually by the journals, the number of editorial members, the number of manuscripts received, and the percentage of manuscripts accepted, however, vary considerably among the journals.
