This article announces that the Rotary Club of Iloilo City, the Philippines, with a financial contribution from the Rotary Club of Sae Goyang, South Korea, has donated a new solar‐powered water treatment unit to the Barangay district in Iloilo Province. The unit supplies families in the district and people from neighboring towns with safe drinking water at affordable prices. A decentralized solution with a solar power center (a compact photovoltaic system for electrification of rural areas) and a water treatment unit were installed and launched in October 2010. The unit daily provides the inhabitants of Ban‐Ag with approximately 15,000 liters of clean and safe drinking water, powered by renewable energy and without any chemicals.
