In his column, AWWA Executive Director David LaFrance begins his discussion by fondly reminiscing about summer vacations at his grandparent's cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, where the running water came from the lake in a 50‐ft. pipe with a screen box at the end of it. He goes on to discuss current water industry source water challenges that include ensuring an adequate supply of water to the population at water quality levels mandated by government regulations.
